Community Involvement
Bowman Chevrolet has been a proud member of the Clarkston community for more than 30 years. We attribute much of our success to the unwavering support of our neighbors, and we believe in giving back by supporting community events, nonprofit organizations, schools and youth sports leagues that improve the lives of the people who live and work in Clarkston. In addition, Bowman Chevrolet has four primary charities that we support annually: Clarkston SCAMP - “A Special Camp for Special Kids,” The Community Impact Team, Easterseals Michigan, and Clarkston Area Youth Assistance (CAYA).
Clarkston Scamp
We take pride in being a part of the community. As a part of Clarkston, we participate in local events, sponsor local sports and charities and make an effort to be a part of the heart of Clarkston. Through these efforts, there are four charities that we hold near and dear to our heart, taking an active role in these charitable foundations. Clarkston SCAMP is a local organization that is a "special camp for special kids" providing an environment for children who are not able to attend traditional camps to go. This has been an organization that we have been contributing to since Bowman Chevrolet was founded in 1984. SCAMP holds a special place for us as one of our own, Mimi Ridings (Bowman), attended this camp in her childhood. SCAMP has six major fundraisers throughout the year, and we are proud to be a major sponsor in each one.
The Community Impact Team
The Community Impact Team is a 501(c)(3) organization made up of local churches, businesses, individuals, nonprofit and civic organizations. Its mission is to help people in the Clarkston community who need assistance with home repairs, yard cleanup or access to nutritious food, including senior citizens, veterans, widows and widowers, physically or mentally handicapped, or economically disadvantaged families that need a hand up.
Easterseals MORC
Easterseals MORC is a nonprofit health and human services organization. The organization provides a comprehensive array of supportive services to help children and adults with mental illness, physical and developmental disabilities and/or special needs, and their families. It has over 150 years of experience and leadership in the behavioral health field, and serves over 21,000 individuals in Michigan annually.
Clarkston Area Youth Assistance
Clarkston Area Youth Assistance (CAYA) is a unique youth assistance program that the late John E. Bowman began working with over 20 years ago. One of 26 local youth assistance programs of this nature, CAYA is administered through the Oakland County family court. Working with the court system, educational system, individual cities and townships, the youth assistance program operates on the intention of preventing juvenile delinquency, neglect and abuse through community involvement. CAYA’s programs and events work on this premise and reward both individuals and the community through its efforts. We follow in Mr. Bowman’s footsteps with his passion for this organization and look forward to working with them for many more years to come.Evan Foster Racing
In 2016, Bowman Chevrolet became a proud sponsor of Evan Foster Racing. We look forward to working with him and his team in 2018 and are excited to see what it has in store for Evan.
